🔥 In short

I designed a website for an educational comic book by Artur Kurasiński. The book shows and explains important topics from the modern world of technology and science (such as AI, statistics, biotechnology, and fake news) in an attractive and light way (for both children and adults).
âś… The Challenges

đź“Ťto include the visual value and style of the comic book in the design;
đź“Ťto inform about the product while focusing on the sales;
📍to show a snippet of the comic book…
📍…and a convenient way to choose one of the available packages.
Consistency of design: web design and the comic book

The stage zero of the design was in fact collecting all of the available illustrations from Tomasz Minkiewicz, the cartoonist. Web design had to be built around them to keep the visual connection – it was important to blur the line between the comic book and website by inviting the characters to this platform.
MINIMIZE WALL OF TEXT, MAXIMIZE THE CONTENT = interaction design

We have decided to show the idea of the comic book, its main topics, authors, and people involved… to tell the most without talking too much. I’ve focused on the visuals.
In addition to refining the UI itself, it also required from me to design as many interactions as possible, which this time were not limited only to the design of the hover behavior for buttons, as is the case in most web projects.
The idea was to bring the comic book to life and show as many meaningfull animations as possible so that the user would immerse himself in the product like a good comic book.
The “wow” effect

One of our goals was to make the website as “alive” as possible. We did it by implementing pieces of the comic book and fragments of illustrations on the grid via unusual animations.
The path to purchase and integration with e-shop

One of the key points of the project was to show the available sets of the comic book and additional products in a clear way, and to make the choice and purchase easier.
Product comes first

All our activities resulted in the creation of a modern website where the educational comic “Rose, what do you want to know?” is always at the center of attention!
